Osama Bin Laden was killed by US Navy SEALs on 2nd May, 2011 in an Abbottabad compound. Besides being a violation of Pakistani air space by the US gunship helicopters, this was a direct attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty.
It was additionally, of course, a complete failure on the part of our PAF alert system. If at all Osama bil Laden was there, then it was also a complete collapse of our so called state of the art intelligence agencies.
Conspiracy theories about this event abound. They range from Osama bin Laden was never there to President Zardari was in the know about the operation. There are so many theories doing the rounds that the simple truth seems to have been obfuscated.
The Pakistani government has constituted a high powered commission headed by Justice Javed Iqbal to enquire into the whole affair. While the commission is still working to meet all the terms of reference of the enquiry, the Abbottabad compound has been razed to the ground for no cogent reasons. One fails to understand why this was done. Does it not give credence to the theories that this was all a staged drama?
With the latest technology, the entire operation was being recorded and transmitted direct to the White House, where the top hierarchy of the State Department ,including President Obama and foreign secretary Ms Clinton were seen closely observing the entire operation with awe on their faces.
Having killed Osama bil Laden, the attacking forces took his dead body and dumped it into the Indian Ocean in a most mysterious manner. In order to remove the doubts existing in the minds of general public, the US government must show to the world at large, the entire video of the operation and the dead body of the most wanted terrorist of the world having a head money of $ 25 millions. Alternatively, we are justified to doubt the killing of OBL in the Abbottabad compound of Pakistan.
The questions about Osama bil Laden’s presence in Abbottabad without the knowledge of intelligence agencies for 6 long years, the silent disposal of his body in the ocean, and the razing of the Abbottabad compound must be answered to prevent these theories from proliferating and the simple fact that the public deserves the truth.
