With a heat wave gripping the provincial capital since few days, meteorologists predict temperatures going up and up in the coming days.
The minimum temperature in the city remained 17 degree Celsius while the maximum limit touched 31 Celsius. Per Pakistan Metrological Department, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However rain or thunderstorms are likely at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara Pehsawar, Rawalpindi divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan. PMD Director Muhammad Riaz Khan told Pakistan Today that temperatures might have been raised if there had not been cloud system affecting western parts of the country. He said currently shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist for the next 24-36 hours. He said this weather system may affect the western Parts of Punjab including Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions, adding that last week of March was not so hot normally.
