Relief items including tents and ration were dispatched to the affectees of property damaged by heavy rains in District Ghizer, Gilgit Baltistan(GB), the Gilgit Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA) reported to the National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA) Tuesday.
The heavy downpour caused roof of at least one house in village Quorqalti, tehsil Yasin, District Ghizer, Gilgit Baltistan to collapse resulting in deaths of at least four persons, the GBDMA authorities informed, adding
that relief efforts were hampered by blockage of road leading to the affected area. However, the relief items were being transported on foot, alternatively, the authorities further informed.
