Despite claims of Federal Minister for Railways and assurances of the federal government, railway travel still remains troublesome for passengers because of the constant tardiness of the trains. Pakistan Railways (PR) has not succeeded in overcoming this issue. Passengers had to wait for hours at different railway stations whereas their relatives waited for five to 10 hours.
The PR inquiry officials said that this problem was due to the shortage of railway engines. The passengers criticised the PR and federal government for not giving the railways its due attention. They were of the view that instead of launching business and luxury trains, PR should concentrate on passenger trains.
