The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Tuesday increased power tariff by Rs 6.39 as four months fuel adjustment.
The NEPRA’s meeting to review price hike held under the chair of NEPRA vice chairman Ghiasuddin. The meeting approved hike in tariff price from October 2011 to January 2012.
Power tariff has been increased by Rs 2.22 for October, Rs 1.27 for November, 0.94 paisa for December and Rs 1.96 per unit for January 2012.
New tariff will be imposed on May, June, July and August bills.
According to the authority, the fresh hike has been made due to increase in furnace oil prices, gas shortage and decrease in hydro power generation.
