The Lahore High Court (LHC) expressing dissatisfaction over not presenting loadshedding schedule of high officials offices in court has warned for contempt case could be initiated against PEPCO.
Chief Justice LHC Sheikh Azmat Saeed during hearing of the case remarked that when authorities could avoid loadshedding on the occasion of cricket matches then why the citizens were deprived of the facility during routine days.
He said that court knows well how to implement its decision but it wants the authorities concerned to do their job in this regard.
It should be mentioned that LHC on a petition filed by a lawyers Azhar Saddique had directed the authorities concerned to submit loadshedding schedule of President House, Prime Minister House, Chief Ministers Houses and other high officials in the court.
The petitioner in his plea had requested the court to exempt courts and hospitals from loadshedding.
The court directed PEPCO to submit the schedule on next hearing and adjourned the hearing till April 02.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed also directed the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to inform about taxes the consumers were paying through electricity bills.
