Joint session starts debate on ties with US

The joint session of the parliament is discussing Pakistan US ties today, according to a private TV channel.
Senate Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari is chairing the session summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari exercizing powers conferred under Clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
The recommendations of the parliamentary committee on national security include matters related to sovereignty, drone attacks, and strategic assets.
The committee chairman on national security, outlining recommendations in parliament, said Pakistan should demand an unconditional apology for a November 26 NATO air attack from within Afghanistan that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers and plunged ties with the United States to their lowest in years.
