Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday said the ISI was an important arm of the security establishment assigned to safeguard national interests in consonance with the aspirations of the people of Pakistan.
The prime minister said this in a meeting with the newly-appointed ISI DG, Lt General Zaheerul Islam, who called on him after assuming his responsibilities.
