Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader, Javed Hashmi, has been appointed as president of the party. The decision was announced during a press conference attended by Imran Khan and other senior party leaders on Monday. Hashmi, said that the party would work against corruption and for strengthening democracy. The new PTI president would have a say in decisions related to awarding party tickets to members. Hashmi also welcomed the workers of the Pakistan Democratic Party (PDP), which has recently merged into the PTI. According to a source, Hashmi has played an important role in convincing PDP President Nawabzada Masoor to merge his party into the PTI.
