Sultan Kosen at 8ft 3in is listed in the 2011 Guinness World Records at the tallest living man. He received treatment at the University of Virginia Medical Center in May 2010 for treatment for a disorder called acromegaly, which is usually caused by a tumour in the pituitary gland. Kosen was placed on a new medication that could potentially help control the production of growth hormone and stop his continued growth. University officials now claim that Kosen has stopped growing. The treatment will be noted in Guinness World Records.
