The prices of vegetables witnessed an upward trend at the city’s Sunday bazaars as compared to the last week’s prices.
This week, the prices of onion, garlic, ginger, pumpkin, tomatoes, brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower and peas witnessed significant increase.
According to the price list, the prices of onion increased by Rs 6 per kg. This week onion was sold at Rs 37 per kg against the previous week when it was available for Rs 31 per kg.
This week the prices of garlic and ginger recorded an increase of Rs 24 per kg each. According to the list, this week both items were sold at Rs 112 per kg each.
Tomatoes were sold at Rs 32 against the previous week’s rate of Rs 30 per kg.
The prices of cauliflower and cabbage also recorded an increase of Rs 6 and Rs 2 per kg respectively. Similarly, the prices of Brinjal also witnessed an increase of Rs 4 per kg., Brinjal was sold at Rs 50 against the previous week’s rate when it was sold at Rs 46 per Kg.
The prices of potatoes, gourd (tenda), ladyfinger, bitter gourd remained stable while the prices of green chili witnessed decrease of Rs 112 per kg. This week, green chili was sold at Rs 100 per kg against the last week’s prices of Rs 110.
According to the list, the prices of chicken also witnessed decrease of Rs 7 per kg. This week, chicken was sold at Rs 140 per kg.
The prices of almost all the seasonal fruits remained stable. This week apple (Kalani) was sold at Rs 170 and apple (golden) was sold at Rs 120. According to the list, banana was sold at Rs 70 (best quality) and Rs 35 (normal) and oranges were sold at Rs 70 (Punjabi) and Rs 90 (Khanpuri) per dozen.
