Around eight militants were killed and several others were injured on Saturday in fresh air strikes by security forces in Orakzai Agency.
Official sources said that at least 40 militants were killed by the security forces in the last 12 hours in the tribal belt.
Sources said 23 militants were killed in air strikes in the areas of Samaa Bazaar, Toor Semath, Kagu Qamar, Mamuzi, Jabba, and Balaras of Orakzai Agency. Three bases of the militants in Orakzai have been destroyed, sources added.
Elsewhere in Kurram Agency, troops killed 15 militants in similar air attacks.
Meanwhile in South Waziristan, militants attacked a security check post, killing four civilians in the crossfire between militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and security forces. Four militants were also killed in the skirmish.
Intermittent military operations were still underway in the rugged region bordering Afghanistan, where Pakistan Army is conducting raids to eliminate Taliban insurgents.
