A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government special committee met on Saturday to determine the price for the house of legendary Bollywood actor Dillip Kumar.
The meeting, chaired by Board of Revenue Member Waqar Ayub, was attended by the committee’s members, Information and Culture secretary, Local Government and Rural Development secretary and Communication and Works Department representatives.
The house, where Dillip Kumar was born, is situated at Dakki, inside the Asamayee Gate and connects the historical Qissakhwani Baazaar with the Andar Sheher jewellery market.
Various aspects related to reviewing the property’s market value were discussed during the meeting.
The committee is expected to submit its report to higher authorities within a week. It may be recalled that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, while on a visit to the residences of Dillip Kumar and Raj Kapoor, had announced that the houses would be declared as national heritage sites.
The special committee was formed to initiate the process by determining the market values of the properties. The committee was said to be finalising its report for submission to the government.
