The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench on Friday sought written reply from the General Headquarters (GHQ) regarding disappearance issue of Brigadier Ali Khan from a hospital, who is currently tried in a military court for his alleged role in staging a coup. The single-judge bench of Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sandhu issued directive after hearing a case regarding disappearance of Brig Ali Khan from hospital.
Dr Colonel Waqar and Colonel Tahir, on part of respondent, submitted a reply in which it was apprised that Brig Ali was under the detention of 111 Brigade where his court martial proceedings were underway. Colonel (r) Inamur Raheem, counsel for Ali, contended that initiation of court martial proceedings without prior information was against the settled principles of law. The bench adjourned further hearing until March 19.
GHQ was GHQ and is GHQ that would remain GHQ. Don't touch it…
