A special squad of Environment Protection Department (EPD) under the supervision of Secretary EDP Sajjad Saleem Hotiana conducted surprise visit in Sabzazar Truck Adda and sealed two workshops and one tyre warehouse here on Friday. The Environment Protection Department squad inspected various workshops and warehouses in Sabzazar Truck Add situated in UC-90 and found pile tyres and other scrap filled with water at the rooftops of these workshops.
The squad took all these tyres and other scrap into their custody and sealed the workshops including Amir Riaz Workshop, Ahmed Nawaz Heavy Machinery Workshop and M Bashir Tyre Warehouse after issuing them notices.
Interestingly, the Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Samanabad Imtiaz Awan had to inspect all these areas but when he came to know about the presence of EPD Squad, he reached there with trucks and started to clear the pile tyres present in M. Bashir tyre warehouse.
Later, Secretary Environment Protection Department Sajjad Saleem Hotiana held a public hearing in Truck Adda Sabazazar and informed the labourers and workers regarding the preventive measures from Dengue virus. Taking to the workers, he urged them to adopt all the safety measures which could be saved them from Dengue mosquito.
Director EPA Nasim ur Rehman Shah, DDO Environment Muhammas Younas and TMO Samanabad Imtiaz Awan were also present on this occasion.
