Cleanliness drive launched in rural areas


The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has launched cleanliness drive in the rural areas of Islamabad to ensure pollution-free environment in the wake of summer season.
Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Islamabad Nauman Yousaf told that as part of preventive measures against dengue mosquitoes, around 190 illegal cattle dens in Sohan and nearby areas, have been served notices through union councils to shift their cattle dens outside human settlements immediately to eliminate any chance of disease outbreak. He told that necessary action under relevant laws would be initiated against the violators. The administration would ensure that surrounding environment of human settlements in the rural areas should be clean and free from germs and pollution, he added.
