Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the aim of progress and prosperity of the country could only be achieved by equipping the youth with modern knowledge. He said Punjab government was distributing 1.25 lakh laptops among talented male and female students who would play girl and boy students on merit who will play their due role in the progress and development of the country by acquiring latest knowledge of science and technology. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N wants to bring such an educational revolution in the province as could result in availability of academic facilities of the standard of Atchison College to the poor children.
He was addressing laptops distribution ceremony for the students at University of Gujrat on Thursday. PML-N members, students and their parents were present in large numbers.
The CM, while congratulating the 4,000 lucky students of Gujrat said 90 percent of these students belonged to poor families and their parents had put in a lot of effort to send them to schools and colleges. He said he wanted to see an Arfa Kareem come out from every house of the province so that the image of the country could be improved in the coming years.
The CM said inefficient and corrupt rulers had pushed the country to the verge of disaster and the sooner the nation got rid of the corrupt gang, the better it would be for the country. Later, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and other political personalities distributed laptops among brilliant students.
The CM also updated his Facebook status, telling the Lahore students that he would be distributing laptops amongst them on March 23.
