Hundreds of MQM activists on Friday gathered at Arts Council Chorangi to stage a protest against the rising incidents of extortion in the metropolis.
The protest venue is very close to the Sindh Assembly.
A larger number of traders also joined the protest.
Participants of the demonstration were chanting slogans against the bhatta mafia operating in the country’s economic capital.
The protest was led by traders’ leaders Atiq Mir and Jameel Paracha. Leaders of the business community accused the government of falling short of practical efforts to curb the menace.
