Gang crossfire kills old man

An old man died and two others received injuries during crossfire between the two parties in Mozang area on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Mohammad Sadiq, a cart vendor. Those injured, were identified as Tahir and Asif.
Police said that Haji Atta had given a shop to one Athar on rent. On the day of the incident, Mohid came to the shop of Athar and demanded rent, upon which Athar first exchanged hot words with him and later called his men. As a result of which both the groups started firing shots on each other, due to which Sadiq, Asif and Tahir received injuries. They were rushed to a local hospital where Sadiq was pronounced dead while doctors stated the others to be in a critical condition. Police after reaching the scene removed the body to the morgue and started investigating the matter.
BUTCHERED: A 30-year old man was shot dead by his friend in Factory Area Police precincts on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Rafaqat Ali, a butcher by profession and a resident of Qadri Colony. Police said that the accused Ali Raza took Rafaqat to his place for drinking liquor. Ali, under the influence of liquor, pulled the trigger of his pistol, as a result of which Rafaqat sustained fatal bullet wounds, resulting into his death. Ali threw his body near the local quarters to paint the incident as robbery cum murder. Police removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and started investigating the matter on different aspects.
UNIDENTIFIED BODY: Harbanspura police recovered body of a 35-year old man from the canal on Wednesday. Police suspected that some unidentified persons had killed the victim and threw his body in the canal. The body, yet to be identified, was shifted to the morgue for autopsy.
