Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has turned down the application submitted by the Pakistan Muslim League provincial lawmakers to nominate Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim as leader of the opposition in the House.
According to details, five PML members including Arbab Zulfiqar Ali, Nuzhat Pathan, Chetan Mal under the aegis of Abdul Razzaque Rahmoon submitted the application with their signatures requesting the speaker to nominate Rahim as the leader of the opposition in the assembly on February 27. However, the speaker turned down their request saying that there are 11 assembly members of the PML, whereas only five of them have signed the application. This means that Rahim is not supported by the number of lawmakers to be nominated for the position.
