Factory Area Police on Wednesday have claimed to recover a 3-year-old child, who was abducted from his paternal aunt’s house on March 2 and arrested three people including his aunt’s son.
The victim was identified as Abuzar, a resident of Chunian City district Kasur. The police said that the victim was here in the city along with his parent’s to attend a marriage ceremony at his aunt’s house. On March 2, some unknown men kidnapped Abuzar from the marriage ceremony. Allah Rakha, father of the victim, informed the police, who registered a case and started investigations. A couple of days later the kidnappers contacted Allah Rakha and demanded Rs 4 million as ransom for releasing Abuzar. The kidnappers also threatened to kill Abuzar if Allah Rakha contacted the police or refused to cooperate. Police said that Allah Rakha, on orders from the police, agreed to pay the ransom in installations and on Tuesday night decided on a location for the drop off. The police followed Allah Rakha and later chased the kidnappers to their hideout where they found Abuzar and arrested the culprits one of whom was Abuzar’s cousin, Naeem Ullah.
The remaining kidnappers were identified as Shahid, a rickshaw driver and Maqsoodan Bibi. The kidnappers confessed to their crime in police custody. Naeem Ullah, while talking to reporters in police custody, claimed that Shahid had convinced him to kidnap his cousin as he was in need of money. Further investigations are underway.
