Experts join heads over globalisation

Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies in collaboration with Punjab government Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs organised a National Conference on “Human Rights, Local Culture and Globalism” on Tuesday at Faisal Auditorium. With PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran in the chair, the event was attended by Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs Secretary Arshad Bin Ahmad, Aitchison College Principal Prof Dr Muhmmad Hafeez, Prof Dr Zikria Zakir, renowned analyst Orya Mqbool Jan and students. The speakers at the conference discussed different aspects of globalisation and its impact on Pakistan and said the government should use it as a process for the betterment of the people. Punjab Police Training Additional IG Mr Sarmad Saeed Khan, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Dr Abul Hassan Najmi, Urdu Department Chairman Dr Fakhar-ul-Haq Noori and others also spoke on the occasion.
PU TO HOST PAKISTAN’S LARGEST BOOK FAIR: A 3-day book fair will begin at the Main Corridor of PU Institute of Education & Research (IER), New Campus from March 15 (tomorrow). Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan will inaugurate the book fair at 11am. The fair will be open till March 17 from 9am to 7pm daily. Renowned publishers, booksellers and IT companies will setup their stalls at the book fair where students, faculty members and people will get books on special discount.
