Brigadier Ali Khan, accused of having links with the banned Hizbut Tahrir, was shifted to an unknown place from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), his brother said on Tuesday. He was admitted to hospital following his bad health during court martial proceedings in Sialkot last week, the BBC reported. According to his brother Malik Bashir, the hospital administration informed Ali’s wife that he was discharged from hospital when she visited him on Monday. Bashir said that the authorities concerned did not inform his family or even his lawyer about Ali’s whereabouts.
Ali’s mother suffered a heart attack when she heard about shifting of his son from the hospital to an unknown place. Bashir said that high military officials were responsible for his family’s suffering, as parents of Ali were admitted in the same hospital. He appealed to the army chief and other military officials to take action, adding that the army chief was well aware of the situation.
