Former president of Pakistan and chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has claimed that Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was not killed but he had committed suicide.
Talking about Balochistan, the former president said the Balochistan issue was not difficult as it was being depicted. There are a few people destroying the peace of the province and they should be dealt with strictly, he said. He further claimed that India was playing a role in destabilising peace in the country. “The country was on the verge of disaster and then I introduced ‘real democracy’,” a private television channel quoted him as saying. The APML chief said that he would return to the country before the next general elections and the exact date of his arrival would be decided in consultation with his party’s leadership. Meanwhile, Baloch nationalist leader Harbiyar Marri disregarded Musharraf’s claim and said Musharraf now wanted to escape after committing atrocities for 10 years against the Baloch people.
