United Bank on Monday claimed the National One-day Cup 2011-12 Division-II after it hit KRL hard to get a big 166 runs win at the National Stadium, Karachi. UBK first set a target of 262 for KRL to get but saw them wilt at just 96 runs. Adnan Baig, who was named the man of the match, hammered 79 runs and later the winning team’s Misbah Khan took four wickets to leave KRL in tatters.
The winner, apart from the trophy earned United Bank a purse of Rs 250,000 with the runner up KRL getting Rs 125,000. Adnan Baig of the winning team was declared the man of the final and was awarded Rs 25,000. Usman Salahuddin of Lahore Eagles with 221 runs, Ruman Raees and Misbah Khan, both of United Bank with 12 wickets each, Ruman Raees also of United Bank with seven catches and Adnan Jamali of Hyderabad Hawks & Adnan Baig United Bank with six dismissals (5 ct/1st) were declared the best batsmen, bowler, fielder and wicket-keeper of the tournament and were give Rs 25,000 each.
