At least two people were killed and 17 others injured when a passenger coach was hit by an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) at Peer Qayoom area, close to Sadda town of Kurram Agency, on Monday. The injured included nine women and children. Officials said a passenger coach was on its way from Peshawar to Parachanar when it hit the IED at Peer Qayoom. The injured were later shifted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar. The officials said all victims belonged to scattered areas of Parachinar.
Elders of the Shia community expressed severe resentment over frequent terrorist acts and alleged that certain elements within the government were responsible for such acts. They alleged that notorious militants headed by Fazal Saeed Haqqani had already been “good Taliban” by the authorities. Officials also claimed to have foiled a terrorism attempt by defusing a high-intensity explosives devise at Bagzai, near Sadda. The explosives were planted by militants along the main road connecting Parachinar to Peshawar.
