Malik, Mukhtar may swap ministries

The government is giving finishing touches to the re-shuffle of the federal cabinet in sync with its coalition partner.
According to a private television channel, there are reports that the ministries of interior, information and law and justice will receive their new bosses as a result of current brainstorming.
The channel reported that the consultations are in progress for the reshuffle of federal cabinet in the wake of joint Parliament address by President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to the channel, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik will be winched from Interior to lead defence ministry and Ahmed Mukhtar will function as federal Interior Minister.
It said that Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan will be replaced by Qamar Zaman Kaira as federal minister, adding some other names are also on table of discussion to be given new portfolios.
The Law Ministry is looking at Farooq H. Naek, Aitezaz Ahsan or Mian Raza Rabbani to take charge as the next chief.
The channel reported that some new names are being contemplated upon to be inducted in the fresh cabinet.

  1. Ahmed Mukhtar having successfully destroyed PIA and CAA through his corruption will now be given Interior so that he can wreck it further and stage manage coming elections

  2. Having pocketed kickbacks in $1.5 Billion deal signed recently for 5 more B777s and Transworld FZE spare parts contract, there is nothing left for Ahmed Mukhtar to milk out of PIA. He now wants to move out to greener pastures and perhaps manage to distance himself from the imminent collapse of national airline which is facing danger of suspension by European Union.
