At least eight students of Islamia College Railway Road sustained injuries due to a clash between two student groups on Monday. Naulakha Police arrested five students out of which three had been injured. The police said that the activists of Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) riding two vehicles reached Islamia College Railway Road. The police said that the activists of IJT straight after entering the premises of the college started thrashing the watchmen and students. Police sources said that meanwhile students of Islamia College also gathered there and both groups greeted each other with kicks and fits. Due to the clash at least eight students sustained injuries. Heavy contingent of Police immediately moved to the crime scene in order to stop the scuffle. Police officials took a student of first year at Shahdara Degree College namely Bilal, second year student at Islamia College Civil Lines namely Zaheer and students of FC College including Kashif, Tahir and Mohsin, in their custody besides shifting the injured boys to a nearby hospital where doctors stated them to be stable. Police officials said that the activist of IJT attacked the students of Islamia College Railway in order to restore their influence. Police sources said that investigations were underway. Students at Islamia College Railway Road claimed that the activists of IJT were also equipped with sophisticated weapons and that they had conducted aerial firing as well. Students claimed that activists of IJT thrashed students of Islamia College Railway Road with clubs and sticks.
