Washington DC, London, Paris, Berlin and Beijing have apparently been the focus of global political upheaval. The decision, taken and activities initiated at these towering capitals certainly leave lasting imprints on politics, diplomacy, economy and bilateral relationship among sovereign states.
It is evident from history that a single decision may make friendly states uncompromising enemies forever. Although the government of the United States of America, its department of state and embassy of the US to Pakistan have categorically dismissed any sort of visible involvement in “open” or “secret” separatist movement in Balochistan, but reality is absolutely different.
It should remain clear that despite all these negative efforts Balochistan is and would remain an essential, integrated part of Pakistan. However, it is also an historical fact that the US administration helped in the creation of Bangladesh and even now, not ready to show its card to a country, partner in the war against terror.
“Baloch Community in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan should be extended all possible help to create an independent homeland of their own,” says the unfounded US congress proposed resolution. It is surprising to note that the government and people of Afghanistan haven’t shown any diplomatic reaction over this, it is because various Afghan factions and dissident groups unanimously agree that American-led NATO troops should maintain deployment in Afghanistan, either peace is established in Afghanistan or not. Some Afghans have least concern about it and appreciate regular sending “dead bodies” of military and paramilitary troops back to western countries and it is a routine there to congratulate each other joyfully by saying “Kohsar baaqi, Afghan baaqi.”
From December 27, 1979 up to 9/11, 2001, Soviet Union, despite her power couldn’t snatch a single centimeter of territory from Afghanistan including Baloch areas. On the other hand, in the war torn Afghanistan, USSR had to bear an economy shattering drastic loss of countless billion dollars and finally that resulted in the disintegration of USSR.
Despite all NATO attacks, factional fighting and instability, there is no move of a separate Baloch homeland in Afghanistan, so there seems no logical reason of creating new Baloch homeland.
Balochs are also inhibiting in Iran for centuries. It is important to mention that Balochs are usually the followers of Sunni Sect of Islam. Despite hectic diplomatic activity, international Atomic Energy Agency couldn’t issue a certificate yet to the effect that Iran government was not enriching Atomic bomb through its nuclear installations.
Iran govt definitely has deep differences with Baloch citizens and Baloch community but these internal differences are not deeper enough as to force Iranian Baloch community to initiate a joint struggle for separation and for the establishment of a separate Baloch homeland.
Both democratic and republican congressmen and senators should know it well that there seem few possibilities that Iranian Balochs would opt to get themselves entrapped into foreign devised trap of Baloch homeland.
Moreover, clouds of America—Israel led war against Iran are deepening and in coming days, Balochs there, at this moment, wouldn’t appreciate disintegrating their homeland, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Balochs are greatest in number in Pakistan and this province is largest in respect of area. Balochistan constitutes 43% area of Pakistan. Yes, a military operation is going on there, but these are also continuing in many parts of the world. At the same moment, ruling party and opposition parties and effective and organised political parties here like Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf believe that Pakistan should not get disintegrated once again. As far as the demand from Balochsitan’s politicians and public for arresting former army chief and president of Pakistan Pervaiz Musharraf is concerned, PPP led federal government in principle, has expressed her willingness to arrest him and initiated a court trial owing to his (Musharaf) clear involvement in the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan bugti.
Discussing US involvement and clear cut military, diplomatic and financial Indian and Israeli involvement in strengthening separatist movement in Balochistan, an extremist’s reaction was as under.
A joint action against Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan to create Greater Balochistan would unite all these three (Islamic) countries and if a war gets initiated, it would be the Washington who would suffer, not these countries.”
India, Isreal, USA and other regional and international powers should say good bye to further disintegrating Pakistan because such plans and dreaming of “Greater Balochistan” would remain a costly but futile effort.
