Two robbers were killed while their accomplice managed to flee in fire exchange in an attempted bank robbery here Monday morning.
According to details, three armed robbers dressed in police uniform barged into a private bank located in Nazimabad No 2 near inquiry office and tried to loot cash at gunpoint.
The security guards of the bank offered resistance and bank manager rung the emergency siren. On hearing the siren, the patrolling police party also reached the scene.
On seeing the police, the robbers started firing and tried to flee. In retaliatory fire two robbers were killed while the third managed to escape in injured condition.
The police recovered a Kalashnikov, one repeater and a snatched motorcycle
from the possession of the robbers killed in the firing.
Meanwhile, bullet riddled and tortured dead bodies of two teenage boys identified as Adil and Muhammad Fahim were recovered from Chappa Gali and Machlee Market areas.
The police said that both youths were kidnapped couple of days earlier and later shot dead after torture.
