Man kills wife, friend for ‘honour’

A man killed his wife and friend on the pretext of honour in Faqira Goth, police said on Sunday.
Sohrab Goth SHO said 40-year-old Habibullah went to the home of his wife, 30-year-old Haseena, who had filed for divorce, to sort out differences with her. However, when he saw his friend Habib Murad there, he shot both of them and escaped from the spot.
The police official said raids are being conducted to arrest the suspect.
Separately, a 25-year-old man was killed by two unidentified assailants in Soldier Bazaar No 2.
The duty officer at the Soldier Bazaar police station said Jahangir Khan, a resident of Golimar, was busy work at his tailor shop when two men arrived there and asked him for water. Khan asked his employee to bring them water, but the latter went away, the two men shot the victim.
The duty officer said the victim had no political ties and the police suspect personal enmity as the motive for the murder.
ACCIDENT: A speeding bus ran over a traffic police constable identified as Muhammad Irfan at the Gulbai Flyover on Sunday. The SITE-B SHO said the bus driver managed to escape along with the vehicle.
He said the police have been unable to determine as to which police station should handle the case as the Gulbai Flyover falls in the jurisdiction of both the SITE-B and Shershah police stations.
He said the SITE-B police will investigate the case until the area jurisdiction issue is sorted out.
