The local administration on Sunday imposed Section 144 in Sector H/16 for one month to prevent any kind of enrichment and demarcating of state land, says a press release issued here by the chief commissioner office. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Saddar) Islamabad, Omar Asad, imposed Section 144 and prohibited any person from encroaching upon, occupying, demarcating or entering with intention to encroach upon or occupy any portion of state land situated in Mouza Bhadhana Kalan and Mouza Noon in Sector H-16, Islamabad. Those persons who are reflected as owners, tenants or occupants in the revenue record are also prohibited from engaging in construction in the Khasras whose numbers are mentioned above.
However, these restrictions will not apply to officials of any government department in pursuit of their lawful duties. The press release says that it has come to the knowledge of the sub-divisional magistrate (Saddar) that some persons may attempt to occupy and encroach upon land acquired by the CDA in the above mentioned area and there are sufficient grounds to proceed under section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, and immediate prevention is desirable and necessary in order to prevent illegal occupation for integrity of the acquired land.
