Water and Power Minister Naveed Qamar said on Saturday that it would take time to end load-shedding.
Addressing businessmen community at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and later talking to media, he said the huge difference between demand and supply of power was the major reason and hurdle to end loadshedding. Therefore, it would take enough time to end power outage from country, he added.
After devolution of power under the PPP-led coalition government, the provinces had been given power to generate their own electricity, he said.
He said the government was focusing on Thar Coal project from where thousands megawatt electricity could be produced while work was in progress on Neelam-Jehulam project.
He added that nothing would happen either forthcoming election would be held at the end of 2012 or in 2013.
