The complainant Javed Iqbal told the police that he was on his way on a van (LRP-3809) along with cashier Sanobar and driver Aslam after withdrawing Rs 1.2 million from a local bank, located on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. The carriers of the cash were the employees of Safdar Tentaan Wala (having business of catering), resident of 190-N, Model Town Extension. As the van reached close to the said house, which is situated 100 yards away from Faisal Town police station two robbers riding a bike LEY-2794 intercepted them.
The van driver ignored their signal over which one of the robbers opened indiscriminate firing. The security guards deputed at the house of Safdar retaliated in the same fashion.
