Barclays joins KUFF for youth football development

Barclays Pakistan has recently launched a community development project with a name “Kick Off” with Karachi United Football Foundation (KUFF). With the donation of almost Rs 3.5million from Barclays, KUFF would be able to develop, upgrade and equip one of their existing centers in Korangi into a fully-integrated community intervention model over 12 months. At the signing ceremony held, Shazad Dada, CEO of Barclays Bank Pakistan, said: “Our partnership with KUFF is unique and to a degree ambitious in terms of what we are aiming to achieve, a youth-based program that not only offers football coaching but also a chance of a better future as a more informed, educated and healthy individual.” The project “Kick Off”, a first of its kind sports-based program in the country, will have a direct impact on the currently enrolled 25 young boys through football coaching. It will also enable engagement of around 60 children through talent hunt in football coaching sessions. Imran Ali, CEO of Karachi United Football Foundation said: “Karachi United Football Foundation is very pleased to be partnering with Barclays to support its Center of Excellence in Korangi.”
