Security forces conducted a search and clearance operation against militants in different areas of Chaman on Friday killing two militants and injuring four others.
According to sources, security forces cordoned off Mizai Adda area and conducted search operation. During the operation, militants attacked the security forces by opening the fire and in retaliation, two militants were killed, four others injured and another 14 were arrested. Two troops were also injured during the gun battle.
The injured were shifted to Quetta while traffic was suspended on Quetta-Chaman highway due to operation.
The sources said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the militants.
Meanwhile, some armed men kidnapped eight six Customs and two NAB officials at gunpoint when they were travelling to Chaman from Quetta.
The kidnappers took away them to unidentified place and FC personnel started search operation for their safe recovery.
