Senate approves Human Rights Bill

The Senate Friday unanimously passed “The National Commission for Human Rights Bill, 2012”.
The Bill provides for the establishment of a National Human Rights Commission. It was moved by Leader of the House Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari which had already been approved by the National Assembly.
According to the approved Human Rights Bill 2012, no intelligence agencies would be able to detain any citizen illegally.The bill also stated that the Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies would be answerable to the commission and the parliament.
The commission could survey any jail or any clandestine prison to check illegal confinements, it added.
The bill would also restrict foreign funding to the NGOs in the country without prior approval.

  1. Everything against intelligence. They are so narrow in their vision yhese are not the only human right violation look around and smell the coffie.

  2. Intelligence should have sufficient intelligence to detain someone and do ok to NGOs after intelligence clearance.
