Nestle, Colony Sugar, Army, Pipes win in National Polo

Nestle, Colony Sugar, Pakistan Army/Nadra and BBJ Pipes won their matches of the Bank Alfalah National Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2012 on day six here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Thursday. The quartet of Nestle – Shah Qublai Alam, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Raja samiullah and Hamza Mawaz Khan – did not let Manuel Crespo-led Al Khan / Ciro move freely set aside thinking of winning the match and rather won 8-3. They maintained their grip on the game throughout the five quarters and also remained the leaders of the tournament with six wins. Colony Sugar have to fight all out to beat Master Paints 8-7, thanks to Raul Laplacette, Naveed M Sheikh and Hussain Iftikhar otherwise Masters star rider Gaston Moorer and Ignacio Del Tour tested their strength quite ostensibly. The combined team of Pakistan Army-Nadra thrashed Hataff/Diamond Paints 9-4 and in this big win James Harper, Hassan Ali Farrukh, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana and Asif Tiwana played the major role while Vieri Antinori was the only active member in the losing side to have scored. BBJ Pipes crushed Guard Group/Newage 12-5 with Ahmed Ali Tiwana, Gerardo Mazzini, Maj Omer Minhas earning the limelight while Adnan Jalil Azam, Hissam Ali Hyder and Shah Shamyl Alam remained on their toes to save the match.
