The Lahore Health Executive District Officer Dr Inamul Haq has said that five suspected cases of dengue had been noticed during the first week of March but after laboratory tests no positive dengue patient had been confirmed. He said that due to rise in temperatures, dengue larva had been found in Lahore and the spray teams of Health Department and concerned departments had become active for its elimination.
He said this during a media briefing about dengue in his office. Health District Officer Dr Saeed Akhtar was also present on this occasion. Dr Inam ul Haq further said that 30 per cent population of Lahore was affected due to dengue last year and that dengue virus test in such people was found positive for a long time. Therefore, NS-I test of the patients suffering from fever was conducted for confirmation of dengue as per guidelines of dengue experts advisory group.
