Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has accused opposition leader Khaleda Zia, chief of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), of receiving money from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency ahead of 1991 general elections in the country.
“You (Zia) sold the country by taking money from those who resorted to genocide. The people of Bangladesh won’t forgive you. Why did you take money from the defeated forces?” Hasina said on Thursday at a large rally of her party, the Awami League. “People want to know. One day you will have to answer the people,” she said.
