All hail Reshma!

It was a memorable get-together organised by Radio Pakistan on Women’s day to pay a tribute to Reshma, an iconic singer of the country, on Thursday in the lush green lawn of Radio Pakistan. Many well known pioneers of Radio Pakistan were also present at the occasion which gave a life-full boost to the event. The Punjab Governor Latif Khosa had also come to appreciate and thank the Pakistani idol for her great services in elevating the country’s name by her talent. People belonging from all walks of life lauded the Reshma’s extraordinary talent and epic voice. The show, hosted by Shujaat Hashmi, was broadcasted live all across the country. Amjad Islam Amjad, Naseem Anjum Bhatti, Ahmad Aqeel Rubi, Riaz ur, Rehman Sagar, Wazeer Afzal, Azam Khan, Tahira Syed, Ghala Irfan, Mustafa Quraishi, Munno Bhai, Shaukat Ali, Tehmina Doltana and Radio Pakistan Director General, Mustafa Solangi went down the memory lane recalling incidents of simplicity and innocence of Reshma. Shujaat Hashmi at this moment told a story about Reshma which made the crowd burst into laughter. He said that when Reshma had signed her first contract with Radio Pakistan she had been asked to sign the dotted line. He further narrated that she had replied that she did not how to write after which she had been told to stamp her thumb on the contract; to which she replied that she was already married and hence, she could not do it again.
