Rs 4.2 million were looted from Bank Alfalah Kabirwala Branch on Wednesday. According to details, at around 9:30am nine armed robbers riding on two cars reached the bank situated at Khanewal Road, near the DSP Office and seven of them entered the bank. According to eyewitnesses, the robbers took guards Tasawar and Sarwar hostage at gunpoint and fled after collecting Rs 4.2 million from the cash counter. Bank Manager Arsalan showed the CCTV footage to journalists, according to which all four robbers were young and without masks. Khanewal DPO Waqar Abbasi said that he had constituted teams to trace the robbers, adding that police had earlier arrested a number of culprits from different areas. A FIR was registered in the Kabirwala Police Station on the bank manager’s request.
