American Taylor Phinney was the latest rider to drop out of Paris-Nice due to a stomach bug which forced Tour de France star Andy Schleck off the stage race on Tuesday. Phinney, of the BMC team, and RadioShack pair Jan Bakelants and Joost Posthuma pulled out ahead of Wednesday’s fourth stage from Brive to Rodez. It means RadioShack have now lost three riders to the bug after Schleck — who is set to inherit the 2010 Tour de France title following the recent ban handed to Spain’s Alberto Contador — pulled out on Tuesday morning. Britain’s Bradley Wiggins (Sky) currently leads the race with a 6-sec lead on American Levi Leipheimer, who also races for RadioShack. The race finishes on Sunday.
