Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has once again called for early general elections, saying the government had lost every right to stay in power. Talking to reporters before leaving for London on Wednesday, he said new mandate had become necessary to meet the challenges faced by the country. “Only the PML-N, through people’s power, can change the destiny of the country,” he said, adding that fresh elections were the only hope for positive change in Pakistan. He said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led government was reluctant to face the people, and was not ready to hold elections. “The PPP has nothing on its credit to give people therefore it is not opting for early elections,” he said. He said that unemployment was at its peak and the prevailing conditions had threatened the survival of the common man.
