Mission Sweep Lahore Clean

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said a comprehensive, organised and transparent system of cleanliness is being launched in Lahore with the collaboration of Turk companies due to which a visible change will be witnessed in the provincial metropolis during the next three months. He said Lahore was the city of flowers and gardens and its beauty will be revived and it would be turned into Istanbul to raise the living standard of Lahoris. He was addressing a function on new solid waste management in Lahore at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Wednesday. Representatives of Turk companies, Kh Ahmad Hasaan, MPAs, government officers and a large number of citizens were present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, the CM said an organised system of cleanliness has been evolved for the provincial metropolis due to hard work and efforts of the last three years. He said that modern machinery for cleanliness had been acquired with the collaboration a private company of Turkey. He said the system would be extended to other cities also.
He said Rs 2.5 million were being spent to make the city clean. Lahore Waste Management Company Board of Directors Chairman Kh Ahmad Hasaan, LECSO Chairman Rafey Alam, Environment Protection Fund Head Zara Aslam and prominent analyst and anchor person Iftikhar Ahmad also spoke on this occasion.
