If the federal government tries to give an extension to ISI DG then it means that the memo scandal was fake and cooked up to get an extension for the ISI chief, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali said on Thursday.
Holding a press conference, he said that the PML-N had submitted a resolution in the National Assembly (NA) over missing persons and would debate the issue extensively in the next NA session. Nisar said that the PPP instead of holding Waheeda Shah accountable for slapping an ECP official was holding protests, adding that the ECP was playing into the federal government’s and President Asif Ali Zardari’s hands. He said that huge money of the nation was spent and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, a statement was recorded abroad in the memo scandal. “According to my reports, President Zardari wants to give an extension to the ISI DG only to give an impression that there is nothing wrong and everything is moving smoothly,” he said. The opposition leader said that the federal government should hold general elections by October or else the opposition would take up the issue. To a question about the Mehran Bank scandal and involvement of Nawaz Sharif in the matter, he said that the matter was in the court. “Nawaz can reply better to this question,” he said. Nisar said that the PTI only had a one-point agenda, which was Imran Khan. “If they give any concrete agenda then we can talk with them but right now they have nothing in mind and only promoting Imran, who is making personal attacks on the PML-N,” he concluded.

Is retirement age for Politicians in the Indian sub-continent synonymous to what one says in marriage woes till death do us part!

  3. It is the prerogative of the government to give extensions and they do not require opposition's consent when have blessings of right quarters.Pl calm down and prepare for elections

  4. Why do these army and isi generals have to become glued to their seats anyway. When its time to go they should retire and let the other officers in line take charge! We cant keep these people for 10 years until they are 70. Kayani and Pasha are both well over 60 now!

  5. lol and i just checked pasha turns 60 on march 18th…..nevertheless the argument stands; if you give extensions to them, it upsets the succession of other senior officers who are in line to take these key positions!

  6. General pasha shud b shot in the head he dusnt deserve n honorable retirement so its better dey shud kill him rader dan extending his term in da office

  8. Yes the PPP is in govt for the next 5 years because they are only ones who are politically astute enough to manage large coalition govts unlike the psuedo-sharifs! AND ZARDARI IS PRESIDENT FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS, YAAYYYY 😀

  9. I want to be like him too, he braved 12 years in prison for nothing, they couldnt prove anything against him. And now he is back and making everyone dance to his beat, one suppossed crisis to the next 🙂

  10. it might be a political statement, but its not fair to keep retaining a person even after retirement and giving extension again and again…
