Three men were killed and another seven injured in an incident of targeted killing in Kechh district of Balochistan on Wednesday.
Levies Force officials said a group of Punjabi-speaking people were waiting at a bus stop in Mand Bulo area, 190 kilometres west of Turbat, to leave for Punjab via Karachi when unidentified armed men sprayed them with bullets. As a result, two men were killed and eight were critically injured. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The victims were identified as Riaz Ahmad, Mohammad Fayyaz and Gulzar while the injured include Fiaz, Shafiq, Ejaz, Sufyan, Ehsan, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Hussain and Abdul Karim.
“The victims were waiting for bus after returning from Iran via Mand Bulo border when they were attacked,” Khalil Ahmad, levy official told Pakistan Today. He said the victims belonged to various parts of Punjab, including Sahiwal and Faisalabad. He said three companions of the victims luckily escaped unhurt in the ambush.
The bodies of the deceased were dispatched to their native areas via Turbat after completion of legal formalities.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killings so far.
Meanwhile, two Bugti tribesmen were killed and one belonging to the Marri tribe was injured in Nasirabad on Wednesday.
In the search operation continuing since the last two days, the FC personnel killed two men and injured another in Peru Pul area in Mir Hassan police precincts, some 15 km east of Dera Murad Jamali.
The injured was later arrested. One of the deceased was identified as Baga Bugti while the injured was named as Rory Marri.
An FC spokesman said the FC personnel were attacked by armed saboteurs during routine patrolling in the area close to Nasirabad and Dera Bugti district border. He said the FC men retaliated, killing two of the assailants.
The spokesman of Baloch Republican Army, Sarbaz Baloch rejected the claim of the security forces and alleged that Wednesday’s killing was part of the state forces’ atrocities against the Baloch population.
