The Sindh Culture Department is holding the first “International Conference on Bhanbhore” at the ruins of the site in Thatta district on March 10. Bhanbhore is the third major archeological site of the province, after the UNESCO inscribed World Heritage Sites of Mohenjodaro and Makli.
Bhanbhore is kept on the tentative list of UNESCO and in queue of becoming world heritage. The international conference is likely to act as “catalyst” for its inscription by UNESCO. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will preside over the conference while Provincial Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro will be the chief guest and Sassui Palijo the guest of honour.
