Shahbaz Reveals his Mosquito mastering plan

The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed all government institutions to work in an organised manner to cope with the possible outbreak of dengue and also ensure public participation in the cleanliness campaign. He said that the cabinet committee headed by Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa would supervise over the implementation of the measures for dengue control across the province. Similarly, another cabinet committee would monitor and would ensure effective implementation of the steps taken by the government to deal with the threat of outbreak of dengue in Lahore, he added. He said that Punjab government was fully prepared to cope with the challenge of dengue and no effort would be spared in that regard. He was presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee for dengue control on Tuesday. Secretary Health apprised the meeting of the steps taken for controlling the dengue virus. The CM said that the cabinet committee for dengue control in the provincial metropolis would also include Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Ch Abdul Ghafoor, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Imran Nazir, Members Provincial Assembly and Secretaries of the concerned departments. The committee would be fully empowered and meet on alternate days, he stated, adding that the committee would monitor implementation of the measures for complete eradication of dengue virus from Lahore. He said that assembly members should play an effective role with regards to the arrangements for health and cleanliness in their respective areas. Similarly, public awareness should also be created regarding importance of a clean environment he added and directed that district administrations should play an active role for the elimination of dengue virus from the province. He said that health and other government departments should make collective efforts for controlling dengue and a clean environment should be maintained with the cooperation of masses.
