PM contempt case hearing adjourned till March 8

Supreme Court adjourned the contempt of court case hearing against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani till March 8.
According to a private television channel, Defence and Cabinet Secretary, Nargis Sethi acknowledged that two summaries were sent to Prime Minister by the Ministry of Law.
A seven-judge SC bench, headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk was hearing the case.
Gilani’s counsel, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan was ordered by Justice Nasirul Mulk to submit appropriate evidence pertaining to the case, on which, the counsel submitted the summaries.
Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the documents should have been submitted by the counsel before the starting of the proceeding.
Nargis Sethi informed the court that she was the Principal Secretary of PM from December 15, 2008 till January 17, 2011.
She said the responsibility of Principal Secretary was to assist PM to perform tasks related to the public affairs.
On February 28, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said referring to the various arguments on appeal that he wanted to present evidences and witnesses and that a chance should be granted to him to examine them.
He requested the court to summon law and defence secretaries and former law minister Babar Awan to record their statements as court witnesses.

  1. This is Pakistan & bitter truth is that no law for VIP, man in power & uniform person. Court are made just puppet for common man.

  2. These postponements are cruel joke on the nation being played by CJ; Can he and the court judges not make up their minds!
